Presentation :  "The Future of Quality:  What's Next After Six Sigma??

 
The idea for this presentation was inspired by the January 2006 issue
of Quality Progress.  What's next after Six Sigma?  Labels may come
and go, but a scientific approach to problem solving will remain.  The
next step for quality professionals should be to broaden the scope to
systematic innovation.

Speaker Info

Isabelina Nahmens is a Ph.D. candidate and student in the department
of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems in the College of
Engineering & Computer Science at UCF. She holds a M.S. in Quality
Engineering (2003) and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering (2001) from
UCF. Isabelina holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification (2004) from
the Harrington Group. She is a student member of both IIE and ASQ and
President of ASQ student chapter (Fall 2005 * present). Since 2001,
Isabelina has worked in the Housing Constructability Lab as a Graduate
Research Assistant. Her research has focused on industrialized
homebuilding and the application of lean manufacturing concepts and
quality systems. In 2003, she presented her Master thesis titled
"Dimensions of Service Quality in Home Building". Isabelina has
attended and presented papers of her research in several IIE and ASQ
conferences during 2001 to present.

Jessica Jenness is a Graduate Research Assistant for the Department of
Industrial Engineering & Management Systems at UCF.  She is involved
in research associated with the NSF departmental reform grant to
reengineer undergraduate IE curriculum.  Jessica holds a bachelors
degree in Statistics with a minor in Mathematics from UCF.  Currently,
she is pursuing a masters degree in Quality Engineering and expects to
graduate in May 2006.  Jessica is a student member of the American
Statistical Association and ASQ. 
She is a Six Sigma certified Green
Belt and presented her project at the IEMS Conference in Cocoa Beach
this month.

Non-members/Walk-ins $25.00*

Student Associates $10.00

*Your local chapter subsidizes your cost of the dinner meeting.  Costs to attendees have not increased for several years.

Buffet dinner to be provided. 

 

There are several choices of entrees and sides along with great desserts.  The responses from attendees is "the meal is well worth the money", "best ever".  If you have special food needs contact the Chair or Vice-chair prior to the meeting.
