Scott Barnes (Market opportunities in today’s economy) speech brief statement: In today’s economy market opportunities Wheeled Coach is working on growing relationship with current customers, and continuing to develop new customers based on Value, Quality, On Time Delivery and Customer Service.

Wheeled Coach Industries (www.wheeledcoach.com), the largest single brand manufacture of ambulances in North America is located in Winter Park, Florida was founded in 1973 by Robert Collins. Purchased in 1987 by Collins Industries located in Kansas (no relation to Robert Collins). Sold to Steel Partners and AIP in November of 2006. Speakers |
Scott Barnes, VP of Sales and Marketing. Scott Barnes has joined the Company as Vice President of Sales & Marketing, effective April 16, 2008. Barnes is responsible for leading the sales and marketing team for Wheeled Coach's complete line of emergency vehicles.
Most recently, Mr. Barnes served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for American LaFrance. In that role he was responsible for the $200+ million revenue stream for the Company's Fire and EMS vehicles. A long time resident of Central Florida, Barnes attended Seminole Community College and the University of Central Florida where he majored in History.
Mr. Barnes has personal field experience with the Altamonte Springs Fire Department, Orange County Sheriff's Office, and Valencia Community College. He began Aero Products Corporation in 1978 leading the Company into the Inc. 500 in 1983. In 1994 he introduced the MedicMaster® and RescueMaster® vehicles to the Fire and EMS industry. In 1998 Barnes sold the Company to Freightliner, LLC and joined its subsidiary, American LaFrance.
Nelson Colon, Quality Manager Originally from New York. Attended the electrical engineering program at State University of New York of Farmingdale (S.U.N.Y). Upon completion of the engineering program Nelson entered General Electric’s Aerospace division in Utica, NY. as a Microwave Design Engineer on the B1 bomber program. After 2 years of design engineering he assumed the responsibility of Director of Quality for the micro-electronics fabrication department for electronic warfare systems. After 10 total years at GE he pursued a Quality Systems Manager position with a tier 1 supplier in the automotive industry in Orlando Florida. Once again after 5 years he became to Director of Quality Systems.
He has been able to accomplish the position of lead assessor in QS9000, TS16949, ISO900:2000 & ISO14001. His career in the automotive industry has taken him around the globe. He is currently the quality manager for Wheeled Coach. He has been married for 28 years, the father of 4 lovely girls & a grandfather to three grandsons. His interests are traveling, golf, target shooting & antique cars.
Darin Moore, Director of Operations Professional Experience - In his current position as Director of Operations he is responsible for directing all manufacturing, production control, and maintenance operations for Wheeled Coach’s 210,000 square feet manufacturing facility and approximately 280 hourly and salaried employees. Wheeled Coach is the nation’s largest single ambulance brand producing approximately 1200 units annually. Additional Experience
Academic Experience/ Professional Certification/ Interests Darin received a Bachelor’s of Science in Management from Maryville University, St. Louis and a Master’s of Science in Management from the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay. He has earned professional certification as a Project Management Professional, a Six Sigma Green Belt, and a Lean Manufacturing Manager. He is a member of Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity, the American Legion, and a Life Member of the Special Forces Association. In addition, Darin has presented and participated in multiple seminars and training sessions focused on developing effective leadership and management techniques in various settings. Darin resides in Oviedo, FL with his wife of seventeen years, Judi, and their two children.
