Quality Audit Combats Hurricane!
At the premeeting clinic get your free Audit Checklist and instructions on using it to get your facility prepared for the next hurricane season.
Certificate is included in the standard!
We are highly recommending that facilities use the Hurricane standard to assess and correct their shortcomings no later than 30 June 2006 and achieve a self-assessment grade D or higher.
Currently the standard is approved by the Miami - Dade County Police Department Intergovernmental Bureau for use in southern Florida for this hurricane season. As many as 1,400 facilities may have self-assessed themselves to the standard in southern Florida by the end of June, using the well-established ISO audit methodology.
It is essential that businesses assess their hurricane preparedness starting in April, and not days before landfall, when the shelves are empty of bottled water; and not when we are ordered to evacuate. This early self-assessment is needed so that corrections and upgrades can be made in time for the expected 2006 hurricanes, starting this summer. We must help ourselves, today! Immediately!
This is a completely free Quality form that may be reproduced without cost or penalty. Share the Quality knowledge!
This self-assessment tool is to be used as soon as possible to create punch-lists of needed facility improvements. We should get started now so that we will be as ready as we can make ourselves in the months ahead, well before we are actually under hurricane attack again. Local section members familiar with ISO assessments are strongly recommended to use this audit standard to check their friends' facilities, to give them an impartial final audit. Putting these vital Quality skills to this task would be a public service by a Quality professional and a good deed, indeed. We must help one another, our animals, our businesses, our investments, and our communities. Furthermore, facilities, including shelters, should be strongly encouraged to self-certify to the standard: a certificate affidavit is included as part of this self-contained standard. We owe it to our stockholders to comply with this standard.
At the meeting we will also be recruiting for Hurricane Preparedness Assessors. Currently the largest US based quality system registrar is beginning to actively market certifications of the standard.
